The 1-1 sessions are an offering for anyone interested in developing their practice from the comfort and privacy of their own space, at their own pace. 

It’s kind of like an interactive yoga video – you’ll be guided through a uniquely tailored sequence, but will be able to pause and ask questions as you go, enabling you to get the most out of your practice. Oh the wonders of digital technologies eh?

These private sessions are a great way to develop more confidence in your yoga practice whilst exploring your individual goals and needs.

🤔 HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT TO GOING TO A GROUP CLASS?

Private sessions allow us to tailor to your specific needs and desires. We will have time and space to focus exclusively on your practice, starting from wherever you’re at, be it beginning a new practice, working with a specific goal or concern, or deepening your current practice.

You have the space for individualised attention, to ask questions when you like, and take your time, resting when you need to.

You will have ongoing dialogue with me before and after your session, so I can customise the session to your requirements (and those may change as time goes on - we embrace that!).

📡 HOW IT WORKS

We use Zoom and I’ll lead you through the sequence verbally and visually where appropriate. 

WHAT DO I NEED?

  • An internet connection

  • A computer or device with camera, microphone and speakers/headphones

  • A free account on Zoom.us set up ahead of the session

  • A private space at a comfortable temperature

  • Optional: a blanket + other props you like to use (we can get creative with whatever you have around)


💁🏽‍♀️WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

During each session
, we will begin with “landing” to get really grounded in your space. From there, we will work to address the goals you identified. Towards the end of the session, i’ll guide you into a resting pose, following that, we’ll check in and sign off.

In-between sessions, I am always available by email to answer any questions that you have. If you’re interested, I can provide you with a prompt/information/inspiration to reflect on during the week.

It’s really important to me that you feel you get the most out of the sessions and are able to apply them to “real life”. As you might well know, my main motivation is to offer tools for people to feel at home in themselves. Choose your own adventure- take what works for you, leave or adapt the rest or whatever.

Contact me here to get started! I’ll send you a questionnaire and based on your answers, will begin to craft your session accordingly. We can then arrange a convenient time for you to have the first 1-1 session!

Q & A

Q: How can the 1-1 Sessions benefit me?

A: Good question! There might be many reasons that these sessions could benefit you, for example: 

  • You have limitations in reaching public classes and need a convenient way to practice at a time that works for you.

  • You want to develop your practice in the privacy of your own space with a programme that is designed considering your needs and requirements.

  • You’re starting out on your yoga journey and would like guidance and time understanding the “basics” (getting comfortable in your yoga practice)

  • You want to continue your yoga journey with support to deepen and develop at your own pace.

  • You’re struggling to develop a home practice and want some assistance, accountability and proactive help in finding your way.

  • You’d like personalised attention with a customised programme tailored to your needs.

  • You’re looking to add more tools to your toolkit for creating space for yourself in this world.


Q: I haven’t tried yoga before – to be honest i’m a little apprehensive and I can’t touch my toes

A: No worries! I meet you where you’re at. My approach to yoga is more than just about the body. Rather, your journey and adventure on (and off!) the mat. Touching your toes or physical flexibility isn’t a requirement!

However I will work with you to identify what you’re looking to explore. If that includes flexibility, then I will offer ideas, techniques and postures to experiment with. If your needs are more about managing stress or anxiety, we can work with that too. (it’s all connected, baybee!)

If you’re daunted by attending a yoga class, then having a yoga session in the privacy of your own space can offer you an opportunity to get a handle on some of the basic elements. Every class is different, but builds on what we’ve been exploring. Having sessions tailored to your needs will hopefully give you more confidence. And having someone encouraging you along the way will hopefully help you feel more accountability.

Q: What if i’ve agreed a date and time of a session with you and I can’t make it?

A: No problem, give me at least 24 hours notice if possible and we can re-arrange.

Q: What if I don’t know what kind of class I want?

A: No worries! Sometimes people like to have an idea of the kinds of classes I teach as it helps them to see if they might suit them. They also arrive from different places (some from events, other via youtube etc).

But it’s ok if you don’t know what you want, i teach a range of embodiment styles and modalities (my studies include Hatha, Vinyasa, Iyengar, Scaravelli, Restorative, Yin, Somatics, Trauma Informed Yoga, Ayurveda, Embodied Social Justice and more)

I also send out a questionnaire before we begin working together to identify specific needs you have, as well as ask about your likes/dislikes and any relevant injuries too. Then, create bespoke classes for you based on that information. We also have a check in chat at the start of each session in case anything has come up since we were last in contact.

Q: Will I be “good at yoga” by doing these sessions?

A: If you can breathe, you’re “good at yoga”, so perhaps you don’t need these sessions! But if you’re interested in deepening your practice with a customised class with an approach that meets you where you are, plus accountability, then you could well benefit!
