Most people know one of the longest and my most favourite rituals is Julia Cameron’s Morning Pages. I recommend them to all my clients. If you’re not already familiar with The Artists’ Way, i’d really recommend investing some time to sniff out a copy. It’s been something that has been a regular part of my life since 2004.
Frank not only worked with his limitations but he embraced them. He “poured, dripped and spilled paint covers the canvas….” and managed to create a piece even more interesting because it is authentic to who he is. He’s working with what he has.
So many of us get distracted by what we don’t have, feeling we need to have our shit together, all the goods the tools and the answers.
I know i can get caught up in that too, so no shade if you feel read, darlings. But i find it a helpful reminder always for myself and for every one of my clients to hold space for wherever you’re at. Cause we can work with that.
what if instead of needing to have the best equipment we can afford, or needing our whole 10 year plan together, we instead worked with what’s right here.
Is there a record you love that evokes freedom to you?
Perhaps an album that represents a time in your life when you felt your potential so clearly? Or nostalgia as you were exploring new territories?
I’d love to know!
So much of this world is fixated on a result. A statistic. A number. A ranking.
What does that tell us really?
What are we measuring this against?
Reflections on being a solopreneur for the past 9 years. It’s been hard. And often a path that had me questioning, “…should i give up?!”
But something drives me, like Others, to keep going, despite the challenges.
And there’s lots of us out here, doing our best in this crazy world to make best of it the way we can.
And hopefully align with something that pings our pants on the journey.
Here’s my motivation. Let’s talk about yours! x
PS this blog might be a good accompanyment to my latest podcast episode 32!
What helps you feel “in flow”?
Here’s some of my tips that i use on myself and with clients!
There is so much talk about self improvement.
But what if we did something radical. And instead of trying to strive to be something else, something more, to have more to be more to acquire more
To be more neat. More fun. More healthy. More fit. More comfortably off. More well travelled. More woke. More liked.
What if we instead,
stopped.
How we connect to our own story is vital for how we step forwards and create space for new ones.

Let’s celebrate the process of stepping into yourself. Cultivating the confidence to do you. And embracing your inner weirdo along the way.

The new moon is symbolic of beginnings, it’s the start of the lunar cycle, and metaphorically, it can be a great time to take a moment to reflect, honour and align with cosmic energy!
In this workshop on Sunday 12 July we will explore ideas around the theme REST.
How to make it accessible, and put it into practice by creating a place to land.
Cue a(nother) mini manifesto!
At this time, my energy has been focussed on checking in with what i want to centre. Which begins with the self, and continues into ever-widening circles encompassing those i ride with in this meat carcass upon this rock hurtling through space.
Here’s a brief breakdown as to how that looks (“saw things i imagined…” etc)
Burnout is real.
As is the imbalance of power.
We must learn to be responsible for our energy and tend to the inner revolution so we can really connect with what we think.
How we feel.
Process and digest.
And take action using the skills that are most effective and authentic to us.
There are so many ways to show up and participate in the movement. These resources have been doing the rounds on social media of late, and i wanted to also share the article Deepa wrote that accompanies them, as well as some questions for reflection to help you to discover what role is most aligned with your skills and heart!
pause here a little if you need.
I’m particularly looking at you, dear heart, who finds it hard to rest at all.
your regular reminder to shoot your shot babes, cause there are amazing humans in the world ready to receive you. Despite odds, worries or fears.
Pleasure activism enables me to practice vulnerability, opens me up to experiencing love, joy, healing, community, a bigger meaning and purpose, and, feeling better. Holding space for processing, expression the journey, the miracles in the every day, and being present.
To me, this is freedom.
Inspired by @xicanisma_ ’s post i’m sharing 5 things i do when frozen between holding grief and seeking joy.
In the last few days alone, Gatwick airport air traffic control computers went down, the internet was out in our entire district for the day, numerous apps and platforms with glitches or completely down across the world (the last time happened on the last Mercury Retrograde in March) and is the sat nav issue resolved yet? I mean...the energy is quite something! Have you observed anything?

What does that even mean?
Who do you think you are taking up space like that?!
Everybody’s a bloody coach these days!
An emo from my heart to yours .
It’s been a long road! With lots of learning moments! Honoured to share some with you here!
A deep delve into the concept of copycats, the bigger picture, and more personal learning moments. Plus shady GIFs. Obviously.
I’m into feelings. If something is off, i can’t go with it. People, projects, places. Know what i mean?
So. This week’s being offered a remembering of my truth.
The reason for doing what i do. And suggestions of how you can create space and freedom around a funk.
I'm interested in what lies beneath the people pleasing.
What's our relationship like with ourselves?
Do we like ourselves and respect what we have to say?
Do we honour our voice and our perspective of the world?
Do we embrace our mission and our journey wholeheartedly?
Are we open to exploring and discovering and embracing all facets of ourselves?
I still don't really have the words to articulate the loss i feel since he left.
So i'll share some things i made to honour his legacy.
2 x FEELINGS tribute radio shows. I hope you dig them.
This one’s for all of you who have supported me over the years, whether you've let me into your inbox over the last 8 years or since last week.
Here´s some stuff that helps me out on the journey to being more mindful with the online world
This week i've been thinking a lot about this idea of “letting go” - it's a phrase that´s banded about a lot (i've defo been a culprit in the past!). Sometimes it's implied letting go is a simple and easeful action - a no brainer. But it's a bit of a contradiction i feel. The phrase itself demands awareness and action about a thing, which is ironic considering what the state you're hoping to achieve: non attachment to something, probably.
I was honoured to be interviewed by Kelly Sunrose for the Yoked podcast where i spoke about my yoga journey, life as yoga teacher and polymath in the digital age, and creating the spaces you want to see in the world.
We´re often encouraged to start from a centred and grounded place that feels supportive. Steady.
...But when is anything ever steady? Really?
Most of the time we´re occupying a mode located in the future or past. Doing to get somewhere. Or to run from someplace else. I´m interested in the Being.
If you’ve ever been to one of my public events, yoga + movement community classes, yoga, movement + meditation workshops, retreats, or just listened to playlists or radio shows from me on the regular, you’ll know i’m a fan of Beverly Glenn-Copeland and he features heavily on my musical rotation.
I can’t believe that i’m going to see him this week in London! So in eager and almost all-consuming excitement and anticipation for this show, i thought i’d gather together some videos and listening opportunities for us to enjoy. Expect glorious music, words of wisdom on: creativity, and hopefully, feelings of freedom.
It's that time of year again! Here's some of my picks - let me know yours in the comments! Enjoy! dionne x
Afua Hirsch, Keanu (+ puppes), what therapy is like for queer people of colour, Timbaland + Pharrell gassing each other up, encouragement to go for your dreams, words on womxn’s bodies, Stormzy on: confidence, a vibey playlist, a film quiz, and the most unsafe looking sh✨t i’ve ever seen!
“What i know is that desire is a sense of life, inspiration is the essence of creating. Creation.”
Agnès Varda reflects on how three ideas central to the life of an artist - inspiration, creation, and sharing - have shaped her career over seven decades of filmmaking.
Most of you know Eartha Kitt is one of my beloved muses. She inspires me continuously, and whenever i need to press the reset button, or remind myself of my mission on the planet, i take a time out to immerse myself in clips, gifs and words from her (amongst others). A filling up of one's cup, if you will. And i thought that as she offers me so much inspiration, that she might do the same for you too! So here's a selection of cutlets to enjoy.
To wet your whistle, inspire and delight, here's 5 things for your pleasurezone to support you in the week ahead!
Here's an update from me about trust and some links i've been collecting for your insides this week! Hope it’s useful!

Welcome!
