If you’ve ever been to one of my public events, yoga + movement community classes, yoga, movement + meditation workshops, retreats, or just listened to playlists or radio shows from me on the regular, you’ll know i’m a fan of Beverly Glenn-Copeland and he features heavily on my musical rotation.

I can’t believe that i’m going to see him this week in London! So in eager and almost all-consuming excitement and anticipation for this show, i thought i’d gather together some videos and listening opportunities for us to enjoy. Expect glorious music, words of wisdom on: creativity, and hopefully, feelings of freedom.

THE LAKE SUTRA: Beverly Glenn-Copeland’s Keyboard Fantasies

“Canadian artist Beverly Glenn-Copeland returns to the environment where he recorded Keyboard Fantasies and reflects on how the wilderness influenced his sound and psyche at the time. The album was recorded in 1986 while he was living near Huntsville (3 hours north of Toronto), and only a handful of the self-released cassettes were sold back then. Now in his seventies, Glenn’s music is being rediscovered by a new generation through a vinyl reissue on Séance Centre.”

Beverly Glenn-Copeland on Finding Your Creative Voice | Red Bull Music Academy

“In this lecture at the Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp Montreal 2017, Beverly Glenn-Copeland spoke with refreshing honesty and generosity about lessons learnt and imparted plenty of timeless advice about the unifiying and healing powers of art.”

“It ain’t for fame that we do stuff. I’m going to die relatively soon, from a statistical point of view. If I’m going to base how I’ve gone about my life on whether or not I’m going to get famous, it’s not going to be very satisfying in the end.” He’s more of a big-picture thinker. Leaning in to deliver one last nugget of wisdom he shouts through a smile that stretches ear to ear: “You are wanted! The universe wants you, because you are it!”
